Black-and-white photograph of Diana, Princess of Wales. 1/4 length portrait.
Diana, Princess of Wales, initially noticed Patrick Demarchelier’s work on the pages of Vogue in 1989 and commissioned him to photograph her with her children at Highgrove that year. The two struck a good working relationship that led to several sittings during the 1990s, many of which were published in Harper's Bazaar. Anna Wintour, editor of Vogue, wrote that 'He made attractive women look beautiful and beautiful women seem real.' Demarchelier achieves this here in this unstudied and informal portrait of the princess. -
