Charles William Ferdinand, Duke of Brunswick (1735-1806), was a Prussian prince and soldier. He became famous for his military achievements during the Seven Years War (1756-1763). He was appointed member of the Order of the Garter by George II in 1759. In 1764 he married Princess Augusta, a grand-daughter of George II and younger sister of George III. -
