7"x 5" glass plate negative of Prince Charles, seated. This photograph was taken in July 1951. Six months later, on 6 February 1952, Princess Elizabeth acceded to the throne as Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles became heir apparent with the title of Duke of Cornwall.

Commissioned by Queen Elizabeth II when Princess Elizabeth; presented by John Bone (1930-2008) to Queen Elizabeth II in 2003.
