7" x 5" glass plate negative showing Queen Elizabeth (1900-2002), when Duchess of York, standing and holding the infant Princess Margaret (1930-2002). Princess Margaret was born at Glamis Castle on 21 August 1930, the second daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York (later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth). At the time of her birth she was fourth in line to the throne. The Princess was six months old when this photograph was taken.
