The Long Walk, Windsor Castle c. 1876
-
Photograph taken from the Long Walk with a view towards the Copper statue of King George III at the top of Snow Hill in the centre of the background in Windsor Great Park. In the foreground, a wooden fence borders a small pool of water on the left and elm trees flank either side of the walk.
The Long Walk was designed by King Charles II and was extended during the 18th century by King George III. The Copper Horse that marks the end of the Long Walk at the top of Snow Hill, depicts King George III and was commissioned by his son, King George IV. -
