Photograph of the Horseshoe Cloisters within Windsor Castle. In the foreground is the stone balustrade leading from the West Door of St George's Chapel.
The cloisters were originally built between 1478-81 by King Edward IV and were restored by Sir George Gilbert Scott in 1871 around the same time that this photograph was taken. Today, the cloisters are home to the Chapel's Lay Clerks. -
