A full length bronze statue of Perseus standing victorious on the body of Medusa, holding her head aloft in his left hand, his sword in his right. Mounted on a square sectioned pedestal with niches containing classical statuettes and caryatids.
This statue is a copy of Cellini's famous bronze from 1545, in the Loggia dei Lanzi in Florence.Provenance
Purchased by Prince Albert at the 1855 Exposition in Paris.
