Princess Alexandra was one of Cecil Beaton’s most frequent royal patrons, choosing him to record many of the princess’s life events, including her engagement to Angus Ogilvy. Beaton brought all his experience of fashion and celebrity photography to play here in a romantic framing of the couple, reminiscent of publicity stills of film stars of the period. -
