Photograph of two collie dogs, the elder Noble lying on the ground and the younger Noble sitting on the left, on a hairy or grassy ground with vegetation behind (which may be painted). The elder Noble was one of Queen Victoria's favourite dogs; he was aged 16 1/2 years in this photograph and died 18 September 1887. The younger dog was his grandson, who died 8 years and 7 months.
