The White Drawing Room, Buckingham Palace c.1873
-
Photograph of a general view of the White Drawing Room, Buckingham Palace, looking towards the Bow Room. This room was designed by John Nash with giant pilasters lining the walls, sometimes in pairs, with gilt plaster decoration. A massive cut-glass chandelier hangs from the centre of the ceiling, accompanied by small chandeliers in each corner. Next to the fireplace is a pair of long settees and sofa-tables, with loose covers. There is a piano in the far right corner, and other furniture, and a fine floral carpet.
