Beyond is the Gulf of Finland. The Lower Dacha, part of the Peterhof Imperial summer residence, is located on the banks of the Gulf of Finland. The palace was the home of Tsar Nicholas II while in residence at Peterhof and several of his children were born there. It was badly damaged during the Second World War and was destroyed in the 1960s.
