-
Photograph of the St Catherine Hall in the Grand Kremlin Palace. The room has a vaulted ceiling supported by columns and there are windows on the left side. Around the edges of the room there are several large candelabras on marble plinths, and chandeliers hang from the ceiling. On the far wall there is an open door. The Kremlin is a fortified complex of palaces and cathedrals in Moscow. The Grand Kremlin Palace is the largest building in the Kremlin and was built between 1837 and 1849. It has five reception rooms named after the Orders of the Russian Empire, including this hall named for St Catherine.
