Photograph of a settee, chair and table in the Boudoir, Hvidore. Queen Alexandra (1844-1925)and her sister the Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna (1847-1928) acquired the house in 1906, after their father, King Christian IX died, for a summer residence. The Empress lived here permanently after 1917 until her death. Much of the furniture was supplied by the British furniture company Waring and Gillow.
