Beauchamp Tower forms part of the inner defensive wall of the Tower of London and was built between 1275 and 1281 by King Edward I. The tower was used to interrogate and house high-ranking prisoners such as Queen Catherine Howard, Lady Jane Rochford and Lady Jane Grey. The tower is also famous for the inscriptions and graffiti carved on its cell walls by prisoners between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. -
