Photograph of the Oak Dining Room, Windsor Castle, the walls decorated in gothic-style oak panelling; large gothic windows to left; a portrait of Marie, Duchess of Edinburgh by Richter (RCIN 405024), in a frame that was made specifically for insertion into the space between fireplace about 1874; a very large Gobelins tapestry of Atalanta weeping over the death of Meleager (RCIN 64105.1) on the opposite wall, above the Pugin-style sideboard and chair. There is an oval portrait of Alexandra, Princess of Wales by Richard Lauchert (RCIN 402337), hanging on the arched door; this was commissioned by Queen Victoria before the Princess's marriage in 1863.
