Photograph showing an interior view of the King's or State Bechamber, Windsor Castle. The State Bed is French, in the 'Polanise' style, attributed to the furniture designer Jacob (RCIN 29220), with a sofa in front. A giltwood over-mantel mirror is mounted above the fireplace, which also has a mantel clock (RCIN 30261). A large chandelier (RCIN 31209) hangs from the Verrio ceiling, the date 1660 is visible on the boss. To the right of the bed is a Canaletto painting of S Giorgio Maggiore (RCIN 400559); a Dobson portrait of James II when Duke of York (RCIN 406905) and a landscape painting. Opposite, to left of the mirror is a Zuccarelli painting of Jacob watering Laban's Flock (RCIN 406008). Below this is a marquetry bombé commode (RCIN 39224), and beside the bed is a cabinet (RCIN 90611). The large circular table is not yet identified. The carpet is Axminister (RCIN 53231).
