Photograph of the Crimson Drawing Room, with a large painting of the Duchess of Kent by Winterhalter (RCIN 405186) hanging on the left and a portrait of Queen Alexandra when Princess of Wales (RCIN 402351) a little further down the same wall. Within the room, there are a mixture of settees, chairs and tables, a grand piano, tall candelabra, some of which were supplied by Morel and Seddon for George IV. The parquet floor is partially covered with two carpets, one in the centre, and one running the length of the room; the floor was designed by Leopold Gruner in 1854 but destroyed in the fire of 1992.
