Glass plate negative of a full length double portrait of the sisters, Victoria-Alice and Mary Symons. The young girls stand in front of a wall and face the camera front on. The younger girl holds a doll. They both wear patterned dresses, light colour stockings and dark colour shoes. The elder girl wears a striped apron. Photograph taken at Balmoral.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print from this negative (RCIN 2800792) can be found in an album of photographs collected and arranged by Prince Albert.Provenance
