A pair of chiffioniers of rosewood on a mahogany base. Raised stepped back with a pierced brass ¾ gilt metal gallery and two baluster supports, above one long and two small drawers with turned wooden handles. The base has an elaborately inlaid frieze drawer decorated with term figures and national emblems, above a brass grill cupboard door composed of S-scrolls and foliate patterns lined with silk, on a raised plinth with outscrolled bracket feet and a further solid plinth beneath.
Perhaps part of a set including 2653.Provenance
Probably supplied for Queen Charlotte's use in The Green Closet, Buckingham House.
