Photograph of Mr CH Allan, British Resident Commissioner in the New Hebrides (now Vanuatu) standing on the left of the "SlitGong" presented to HM The Queen as a gift from Chief Tofor of Ambrym Island. The "Slit Gong" is used in the New Hebrides to summon people to meetings.
