Rectangular gold and green guilloché enamel snuff box with canted corners, the lid mounted with a diamond-set crowned cipher for King George V, in a circular diamond frame, on green enamel ground. Side panels of green enamel with white borders; enamel urns on four corner panels. Contains eight oval frames each containing hair and inscribed with the names of King George V and Queen Mary and their children: Edward (1894), Albert (1895), Mary (1897), Henry (1900), George (1902) and John (1905).
Engraved inside the lid, 'King George V from Queen Mary in remembrance of their Coronation, June 22nd, 1911.'
Struck with hallmarks for 18ct gold, London, 1910/11 and mark of Arthur Baker and Edward Weaver, with retailer's stamp of J. Parkes & Co.Provenance
