Round blue ceramic pot with a bulbous centre, tapering to a round narrow foot. Narrow, round neck flared out towards rim, decorated with applied dots and vertical bars. Interior of the neck is glazed green.
The form evokes a yabba pot - used in Jamaica for food preparation and storage since the seventeenth century.
Norma Rodney Harrack is a member of the International Academy of Ceramics and a Gold Medal winner at the Jamaican Festival of Arts. She is the founder of the Association of Jamaican Potters. In 1993, her piece ‘Lidded Form’ featured on a special issue of Jamaica’s postage stamp.Provenance
