A miniature copy of the Quran in Arabic printed by David Bryce. Copies of Bryce’s Quran were issued to Muslim soldiers who fought for Britain during the First World War. The Indian Soldiers’ Fund, established in 1914 with King George V Queen Mary as patrons, was a charity involved in the distribution of miniature scriptures to Indian servicemen. This copy was bound for Queen Mary, with the title gilded on the spine and her monogram stamped and gilded on the cover, and placed on the shelves of her Dolls' House Library.
