A pair of boomerangs of stained ivory with a strong grain, decorated with a raised panel on each side containing an incised winding flower trails design, the leaves and stems filled with green lacquer. The mounts on the tips of the boomerang made of silver. Boomerangs were used in parts of India for hunting hares and boars.
Provenance
Presented to King Edward VII, when Prince of Wales, during his tour of India in 1875-76.
