Wilhelm Keilhau
King Haakon VII in the history of Norway / by Wilhelm Keilhau. 1942
RCIN 1142096
-
The celebrations for the seventieth birthday of King Haakon took place against the grim background of the Second World War. Two years earlier, when resistance to the German Army had proved ineffective, the King and his son escaped from Norway to London, where they formed the focus of the Norwegian Government in exile. This publication was a fervent expression of Norwegian pride in their Monarch and in their fight to free their native land from German tyranny.
Provenance
Presented to Queen Mary by Haakon VII of Norway.
