Yves Mathurin Marie de Querbeuf was a French Jesuit writer. Born in Brittany, he fled to Germany following the French Revolution. This book is part of his collection of published letters from Jesuit missions in the eastern Mediterranean (then known in Europe as the Levant), the Americas, India and East Asia. They provide much information on the history of missionary travels in the early modern period and Jesuit interactions with cultures from around the world.
