Edmund Turnor was a Lincolnshire antiquary. He was well acquainted with contemporary antiquaries such as Daniel and Samuel Lysons and fellow Lincolnshire native, the botanist Sir Joseph Banks. Turnor wrote many books on a range of subjects of historical and antiquarian interest. Several of these focused on the history of Lincolnshire, such as this book on Grantham, which includes memoirs of Sir Isaac Newton, who studied at The King’s School in the town.
