Postcard album with a green cover decorated with pink flowers. The album belonged to Prince Edward of Wales, later King Edward VIII, and contains 245 postcards (RCINs 2955084-2955325 + 2512365-6.) collected by the Prince between 1904 and 1907. The postcards cover a huge range of subjects including portrait photographs of the Royal family, cities and tourist sights from around the world, Christmas and New Year greetings, military scenes and humorous cartoons. Most of the cards were sent to Prince Edward by his relatives, tutors or nannies. Some were sent to his parents or other family members, and were given to the Prince for his collection.

Prince Edward and his brothers Prince Albert of Wales, later King George VI, and Prince John were keen postcard collectors when they were children. Between them they collected hundreds of postcards covering a vast array of themes.
