Sir Henry Brackenbury presented this copy of his work on the King’s Bodyguard to the King in March 1906, in a fine brown goatskin binding by Ellen (Nelly) G. Woolrich. She was an American binder living in London, trained by Douglas Cockerell or Sangorski and Sutcliffe; her work had recently been seen at the Arts and Crafts Exhibition Society show of 1903.
