This volume contains the satirical dialogues of the Roman satirist Lucian.
Lucian's satires are renowned for being some of the best in the ancient world, and their themes have remained popular and influential throughout history. Around 80 of the satires have survived thanks to their appreciation by Byzantine scholars in late antiquity and in the middle ages, and they cover a wide range of subjects, from philosopy and religion, to gout and the alphabet.Provenance
