His work was very popular during his life, and after a fallow period were revived during the Renaissance, surviving in numerous translations into Latin, and fist printed in 1470. His popularity was on a level with better known authors such as Plato and his works inspired many authors, such as Erasmus, Rabelais, and Thomas More. The present work is a copy of his Ψευδοσοφιστής ἢ Σολοικιστής (Pseudosophistes e solokistes) a work on solecisms or grammatical errors.
