Pair of peach-shaped boxes. Quite thickly made, with flanged rim to take the cover, which is round-topped, pointed on one side and slightly indented on the other. Carved on the top of RCIN 10803.1, the Daoist Immortal Zhongli Quan holding a fan, accompanied by two servants, one with a spray of lingzhi. On RCIN 10803.2, the Immortal Li Tieguai with his pilgrim’s gourd, also in a landscape. The design framed by a ring of nine bats and sprays of peach.
