The great polymath Sir Isaac Newton delved into various different subjects throughout his life. Beyond his great scientific discoveries on the laws of motion and gravity, Newton was also interested in subjects as diverse as alchemy and Biblical chronology. This book, written many years earlier but published posthumously, was an attempt to revise the chronology of the ancient world. The chronology Newton proposed differed wildly from the accepted chronology of the day – he argued, for instance, that King Solomon was the earliest king in history – and contains many errors such as the belief that Greek mythology was actually based on historical fact.
