This edition of the Bible was printed in Strasbourg by the “R-Printer”, so named for their use of a distinctive type for capital letter R. It is now believed that he was Adolf Rusch, a collaborator of a well-known printer in Strasbourg, Johannes Mentelin. This copy has been decorated and heavily annotated. The name "Ignatius" signed at the end accompanied by a prayer, may have been the artist who added the various incipits/explicits and running headers to the text.
Bibliographic description
Royal paper folio. [425] leaves. No signatures; lacks blanks. Red leather thumb tags mark the beginning of each book. Decorated initials in red with infills and pen-flourishes in red and blue; red strokes decorate the minims of capitals.

Markings
annotation: underlinings in red, signposts, maniculae, corrections to the text, and a few comments -- it was evidently used extensively by one reader. The MS rubrics are done by a different scribe. [throughout]
