Pierre-Joseph Redouté was a Belgian botanist and artist known for his watercolours of flowers painted for Marie Antoinette and the Empress Josephine.
Les Liliacées was Redouté’s most ambitious work. Published between 1802 and 1816 under the patronage of Josephine, the work contains exquisite illustrations of lilies and related flowers.
