John Heminge and Henry Condell were members of the King’s Men, Shakespeare’s acting company, and, more importantly, the compilers of the First Folio of Shakespeare. In it they gathered together thirty-six plays, half of which had never been published before, and thus saved them for posterity. As well as this biographical tribute, Walker later commissioned a memorial to the two actors, which still stands at Aldermanbury gardens, in the City of London.
