The Fabian Society is a British socialist organisation established in 1884 to advocate for improved conditions for working people. This book, a collection of essays on socialism, was edited by George Bernard Shaw in 1889. Shaw became aware of the Society soon after its establishment, attending his first meeting in May 1884. He would go on to write several tracts on socialism and helped to raise the society’s profile into the 1890s.
