Charles Varlo was an English agriculturalist. He was interested in agricultural improvements in the British Isles and North America, touring England and the American states of Maryland and Virginia. This book is one of his later works on agriculture. It serves as a collection of the knowledge he had gained during his American tour. Among the topics discussed was the possible cultivation of maize in England and the management of horses according to practises observed in the United States of America.
