Richard Bradley was a botanist who served at the first professor of botany at Cambridge. Although passionate for the subject, Bradley made few original observations and most of his works were aimed at a popular audience. This book is his General Treatise of Agriculture, a farming and gardening manual first printed between 1721 and 1723.

Probably the copy listed in the inventory of George III’s library at Richmond Lodge, prior to its dispersal c. 1766. In the library of George III at Windsor by 1780.
