-
Sir John Lubbock was a British archaeologist and amateur naturalist. He is perhaps best known for his research into the stone age, coining the terms ‘Palaeolithic’ and ‘Neolithic’. In 1874, Lubbock published Scientific Lectures, a collection of lectures delivered on his dual passions. The book contained lectures on botany, entomology and prehistory. This second edition was published in 1879 with a third printed in 1906.
