This book on the effective management of livestock was first published by Leonard Mascall in 1569. This treatise was primarily a translation of the French farming manual L’art de semer de faire pepinieres des sauvageux (c. 1543) with additions from similar German and Dutch works. A popular work, the book was reprinted several times in the century after its publication. The Royal Library’s copy is of the edition printed in 1633.
