Isaac Backus was a prominent Baptist preacher during the American Revolution. He held great influence and was regarded as a great orator. In 1764, he also became one of the original fellows of what would become Brown University, the first Baptist university in America. This book is his history of New England and the Baptists of the region. It was published between 1777 and 1784.
