کارنامه حیدری Karnamah-i Haidari (The Records of Hyder)

A history of Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan in Persian compiled from various sources by Ghulam Muhammad, Tipu’s fourteenth son (1795–1872).

The author's presentation letter to Queen Victoria reads:

To Her Most Gracious Majesty
May it please Your Majesty
I your Majesty’s most dutiful subject, most Humbly beg to present for your Majesty’s Library a Persian Work styles “Karnama-i-Hydary,’ which has been translated into Persian from the writings of several eminent English authors, as noted in page 17 of the work, on the History of my Grand Father and Father. Permit me therefore with due submission to beg the favour of your Majesty’s ordering the work to be placed in the Library to perpetuate the memory of my ancestors, which mark of Kindness will ever be esteemed by
