An English translation of Mustafa Naima’s political history of Turkey from 1591 to 1659, owned by Queen Victoria.
Niama was the first official historian of the Ottoman Empire, appointed in 1709. The first Turkish print edition of his History appeared in 1734, almost a century before the Scottish Orientalist Charles Fraser made this English translation. -
