The Tuzukat-i Timuri is a biography of Timur, the Turco-Mongol ruler of central Asia, written by the Mughal historian Abu Talib al-Hussayni. Once thought to be a Persian translation of earlier Chagatai Turkish text, the work is now thought to be a 17th century fabrication by Abu Talib.
This translation of the Tuzuk was made by the Anglo-Irish Orientalist, Charles Stewart, after his retirement. He had formery been employed Assistant Professor of Persian at Fort William College in Calcutta and Professor of Arabic, Persian, and Hindustani at East India College, Haileybury.
