This book contains four books of Florian de Ocampo’s printed edition of the Estoria de España, a chronicle begun during the reign of Alfonso X in the thirteenth century. Ocampo was historian to the Holy Roman Emperor, Charles V and two years later began to publish his own history of the country.

Acquired for the Royal Library by William Nicol at the sale of the Library of Frederick North, 5th Earl of Guildford (1766-1827) on 17th Dec 1835, as part of a two-volume set (RCINs 1029617-8): Lot 1547, Price £1, 1s for both volumes.
