A History of Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan written a century after their deaths.
Lewin Browning was private secretary to the Viceroy of India, Lord Canning, from 1858 to 1862, then seved as Chief Commissioner of Mysore from 1862 to 1870. He wrote this history of Hyder Ali and Tipu Sutan, incorportating British, French and Indian perspectives, in the 1890s following his retirement to Torquay. -
