One of the first useful treatises in English on prospecting and metallurgy. First published in 1639, under the title, A Discovery of Subterraneall treasure, the volume proved popular acrss Europe and was reprinted under a variety of titles. The book offered practical information on mining and metalwork and was notable for its efforts to provide guidance to ordinary people.
