Luigi Arditi was an Italian composer and conductor, famous for his operas and vocal waltzes. After studying music at the Milan Conservatory he travelled all over Italy and further afield, throughout Europe and the Americas, until finally settling in Britain, where he conducted in several major theatres including Covent Garden. Parla! is one of his most famous vocal waltzes, composed c.1880-90 and first recorded in 1904.
