A depiction of Kalki, the tenth and final avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu. According to Hindu belief, he is the harbinger of the end of time.
Kalki is shown holding his khanda (double-edged straight sword) in one hand and bow and arrow in the other. He leads his white, winged horse which he will ride across the earth killing all that is evil.

Presented to King Edward VII when Prince of Wales during his tour of India in 1875 by Mangaldas Nathubhoy.
